Introduction:

The education is rapidly becoming just another part of the consumer society. The privatization has led to the increase in the number of institutions to match the supply of engineers to that of the demand. However in most of the cases the direction, relevance, and quality of engineering education has been questioned. The educational institutions have to become more responsive to the expectations of those they serve. Institutions have an obligation to meet the needs of the varied range of stakeholders. Diversity in the approach to engineering education is also necessary to ensure that the graduate will approach industrial experience in a receptive frame of mind. It is therefore, an immediate necessity for the colleges and universities to imbibe the principles of Total Quality Management to develop and to deliver their services to delight the customer in the interest of the country as well as the students who are paying a large sum of money to get educated.

Quality engineering education inculcates a process of continuous improvement and dramatic innovation in student, employer & societal satisfaction by systematically & collectively evaluating and refining system, practices & culture of engineering education institutions. Therefore institutions need to engage in an active, on-going system of self-assessment, self-renewal and sustain quality in teaching/learning process and drift towards a Learning organization.

This Course is intended to provide the concepts and components of TEEQM and its implementation strategies in engineering colleges including the road path.
